What a refacing job covers
- 01
New doors
Built in his shop to your openings – shaker, flat slab or another style you pick.
- 02
New drawer fronts
Matched to the doors so the whole kitchen reads as one finish.
- 03
Veneer or laminate on boxes
The exposed sides and face frames are covered so they match the new doors.
- 04
Pulls and soft-close hinges
New hardware, from black to brass, and hinges that close quietly.
- 05
New and pull-out drawers
Swap a cramped door for drawers, or add pull-outs inside the base cabinets.
- 06
Glass-front doors
Replace a few uppers with glass to open up the room and show dishes.
- 07
Crown molding
A finished top edge that makes older cabinets look built in.
When refacing makes more sense than a remodel
A full remodel means removing every cabinet, and often the counters and backsplash with them. Kitchen cabinet refacing keeps the boxes, the sink and the layout you already live with, and changes what you actually see: doors, drawer fronts, sides and hardware. It is usually faster and far less messy than starting over, and the kitchen stays usable for more of the job.
Refacing only works if the boxes underneath are sound. During the free measurement Lauro opens the cabinets, checks the boxes and tells you plainly whether refacing is worth it. If a sink base is water-damaged or one corner doesn’t work, he can build that piece new in his shop and fit it in with the refaced run.
Why his refacing looks right
- Doors made in his own shop, not ordered from a catalog.
- Every opening measured, because older cabinets are rarely square.
- Sides covered too, so no old finish shows at the ends.
- Hardware and hinges installed and adjusted by Lauro himself.

Questions
Good to know before we start.
Can every kitchen be refaced?
No. The boxes need to be solid. Lauro checks them during the free measurement and tells you honestly if refacing makes sense or if new cabinets are the better choice.
Do my countertops have to come off?
Refacing works on the cabinets you already have, so counters and the sink normally stay where they are. Lauro will explain the steps for your kitchen during the visit.
Can I change the layout a little?
Yes. You can turn a door into drawers, add pull-outs, put glass in a few uppers or add crown molding at the top.
Is refacing covered by the warranty?
Yes. His work comes with a 1-year warranty.
