Closets planned around what you own
A good closet starts with a list, not a catalog. During the free measurement Lauro asks what you need to hang, fold and store: long coats, suits, shoes, bags, linens. Then he draws custom closets that split the space between double hanging, shelves, drawers and shoe shelves, and runs them up to the ceiling so the top isn’t wasted.
Custom pantry cabinets work the same way. Swing-out shelves, roll-out shelves and tall pull-outs bring everything to the front, so you see what you have instead of buying it twice. Laundry nooks, mudroom lockers and garage cabinets get the same treatment: measured on site, drawn by hand, built in his shop and installed by Lauro.
Small details that add up
- Shelves and rods set to your clothes, not a standard height.
- Full-extension drawers you can see all the way into.
- Cabinets built to the ceiling in tight NYC rooms.
- Melamine, plywood or painted wood, chosen for how it’s used.

Questions
Good to know before we start.
Can you fit a closet into an odd space?
Yes. Corners, slanted ceilings and narrow gaps are why custom closets exist. Lauro measures the space for free and draws a layout that fits it.
What goes inside a custom pantry?
Usually a mix of swing-out shelves, roll-out shelves and pull-outs, sized to the cans, jars and appliances you keep.
Do you build laundry room cabinets?
Yes – cabinets over and around the washer and dryer, or a laundry space built into a kitchen run.
What materials do closets use?
Melamine and laminate, plywood, MDF or solid wood like oak, depending on the look you want and how hard the closet works.
